About the Royals

In 1977, after 52 years and seven championships as a key member of another historic Blue Moutain League club, the Bethlehem Cardinals, Bob Zerfass and teammate George Cobb founded the Hellertown Royals, playing their home games at beautiful Dimmick Park in downtown Hellertown.

The Hellertown Royals quickly became a perennial championship club, winning their first championship in 1977 and then again in 1978. Overall, in the first seven years of the club's history, the Royals made six championship series appearances and won 2 titles, cementing themselves as one of the best Blue Mountain League teams. The Royals continued to be one of the most successful clubs year over year. 2005 marked the start of another impressive run of championships and championship appearances, winning five titles between 2005 and 2012.
